I AM..Jizō Amagaku Land of Caverns, Iawyagakure
Age: 57 Rank: Kage Position: Jishinkage Clan/Bloodline: N/A Physical Appearance: Jizo is a man with burns covering literally 95 percent of his body. Only certain places on the top of his head, parts of his upper face and crotch area were actually spared. The rest was all burned to the third degree and makes him rather unsightly. He stands at about 6"3 making him a very tall individual with the skin that looks normal being a very pale grey He has very defined muscles even though one would not be able to tell for the most part since burns are covering most of his body. He appears to have wavy black hair that is quite long but people have taken not to the fact that it only grows in certain areas on the head and others are left without much. His features are mostly all scorched and covered, his ears are functional but melted to his head, his nose is just a small set of openings now with a slight ridge. His eyes are grey which gives him a rather ominous look. His chin face a generally a diamond shaped face and he has a very distinguished look to him. Clothing: The clothing of his Kage is very interesting. He is always wearing what appear to be medical bandages because it is not only a part of his jutsus but also to keep his rather unsightly appearance kept from the rest of the world. His entire body is covered in bandages besides a few areas that are only visible to the user or would seriously constrict him. As far as a first layer goes it covers most of him, the second layer is a pair of long underwear that covers some of his legs and a white cotton shirt that has a white ascot on his neck. Proceeding this is the final later of clothing which is basically everything else. A large and thick black jacket with a large white fur mane in it. A large black top-hat that has some bandages on it as well as black pants that are tight looking but allow mobility and close toed but thin shoes to support him. Distinguishing Marks: Veterans Body: Jizo has the body of a veteran, it shows in the fact that a lot of his body is scorched and burned from a terrible accident and that his body, even though it's not only terribly burned but people can see permanent scars from many attacks hitting. His body truly shows that he has been through many hard battles and that he is truly one of a distinguished appearance even if you often don't see it. [li] Kunai x 20 [/li][li] Shuriken x20 [/li][li] Paper Bombs x50 [/li][li] Steel Wire (40 ft) [/li][li] Flash Bomb x10 [/li][li] Smoke Bomb x4 [/li][li] Fūma Shuriken x2 [/li][/ul] WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER Before I close my eyes I'm gonna give it up Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars It never used to hurt before it isn't funny anymore Likes:- Children - Jizo, even in his name is a lover of children. No not in the pedophile way you fucking sicko. His life goal is basically to protect the next generation at any cost, it is something he feels very strongly about and trying to get him to quit that goal is impossible. He believes in the next generation and the generation after that more than most people do. He believes in the power of youth and believes in the power of the next generation being stronger. That is why he is one of the weaker Kage's he is lead to believe. He does not have a large chakra pool like the others and yet he finds that his experience isn't always as much to make up for it. He wants to do anything he can to protect the children and is willing to die in order to protect them.
- Tea - A very simple joy, Jizo loves getting tea and often times one will see him drink it. He often drinks it with medications because he does indeed have some arthritis, back issues and a severe respiratory condition as a side effect of his accident those many years ago. Because of this he is always needing to take medications in order to not only help those get better but also to numb their pain. He is not addicted to the drugs however one could argue that he is able to just get off of them. He has a process and the plethora of drugs he takes he needs his tea with. Even when he is out he will always get tea, some people wonder if he drinks anything else, which for the most part he doesn't. The type of tea is unimportant though most of the time Jasmine or Yellow Tea.
- Peace - Probably one of the more significant things about Jizo, he is only interested in peace, war is not something he cares to go through. If it were up to this old man they would all just do their own thing. He has no interest in expanding their territory but takes much interesting in defending their own land. He has never liked the idea of going to war and while he has made some close calls he has for the most part stayed out of conflict. Provided they're have been some unfortunate situations where he has engaged in a little scuffle with other villages it was always quickly resolved one way or the other. He has kept his village rather safe these past 16 years and intends on keeping it that way.
- Spring - A time of year that Jizo can easily argue is his favorite. Flowers bloom and it seems to rain a lot more often. This is a time of year for great things to happen. It's getting warmer and there is no snow, everyone is coming out of their houses to enjoy the spring. He likes this time of year because it seems to bring everyone closer after a long while of being cooped up with just their families. The shinobi community seems to be much more willing to train and be much more willing to come out and be social with one another which is one of things that he finds is most important in the village.
Dislikes:- Hospitals - Jizo has a reason to hate hospitals. It is not a fear for them but instead a loathing of them. He has spent so much time in the hospital that at this point he's not interested in the slightest to go to one even if he has a serious injury he will shrug it off as a scratch because he's not interested in going to a hospital and being cooped up. With his constantly weakened body he often has to go to the small general medicine portion of the hospital but at this point even that becomes a bother. He doesn't want to seem like a decrepit old man in front of the villagers.
- Winter - A time of year when people are going into their own homes and aren't out training and socializing for the most part. A rather depressing period of time throughout the year of Iwaya and yet he finds that there might be some somber beauty yet. Even so, he hates the cold and so the winter is certainly something he does not appreciate. He finds that this is the time of year that saddens many people in comparison to the others and so for the most part he is the one that has to watch as his villagers are sad.
- Sleepless Nights - A problem he has had since his accidents is that he suffers from chronic pain and nightmares during the night. He doesn't sleep too much because of his severe and terrifying nightmares because of the accident that he had and the injuries he sustained make sleeping rather difficult. He is not really able to deal with most of the pain as it resurfaces at night. This inability to sleep through the night and often him being too restless to sleep in the first place is a terrible thing to happen to him while he is trying to stay healthy and honestly hates the fact he never sleeps much.
- Clan Argumentation - One thing about being a Kage Jizo can honestly not even begin to stand is a quarrel amongst clans. Even though several clans hold certain special techniques he still finds it very annoying to have to deal with clan issues that make his power borderline abusive when he has to take a side. These stupid quarrels over techniques like Hiden and Kekkei Genkai honestly annoy him when so many clans aren't even together anymore. It's one of those obnoxious things that he feels he shouldn't need to get involved in except for the fact that he is one of the people who in generally is dishing out punishment.
Personality: Jizo is a very complicated man, but ever since his accident some say he has changed drastically. Today, Jizo is a very nice man, a man with integrity and the stubbornness of a mule. He exemplifies the ideal that those from Iwaya are hard-headed and stubborn individuals in the fact that he is almost burned completely and yet he still wont take help from anyone and finds that he is totally independent. He has a love for the children of his country and many would say that while there has been rumor of a child of his own that he thinks of everyone of his villagers as his own children even if they are older than him which many of the shinobi nation are not anymore. At this point in his life he has also become rather wise. He has come to the point where he is no longer going to make hasty foolish decisions even if it is to prove that he is right he is more future-thinking. He takes enjoyment in seeing his village prosper and finds that there is nothing quite like it, it is something he enjoyed even before becoming Kage all those years ago. Today, his sense of humor can be considered somewhat sardonic. He often makes jokes that are more scathing than anything towards people, and yet he finds them somewhat amusing. While he understands normal people humor he has gotten to the point where only this sardonic attitude can keep him going. This hopeless attack with no repercussions that can keep him amused. In addition people never really find him without a (at least they'd imagine) smile on his face because of the fact that he always seems to be in a good mood around the villagers. Many wonder how this man can remain so positive and it's because for the most part he has hope for the village and even if there wasn't any he would find it somewhere. He also seems to be an amazing actor because for the most part he can find that even if he is not feeling well and even if a whole load of other things are going on he will push through in order to make the village feel better. Another thing to notice is that he doesn't seem to really have much of temper. He generally remains calm and his mad appears to be just a mean look and a rising of voice. His anger is hard to get to and he doesn't really have one in the first place. He is a calm dude with no real anger point, he just can't bring himself to the point of blind rage. Another thing to notice is that while he may look a little rough he is actually a very nice man and a very sweet individual. He tries not to take people for granted and is all around a nice man and a good leader which is generally why he was given the position in the first place. He is a man who finds enjoyment in the little things and in the enjoyment of others. A fun place he finds that there is nothing quite like keeping his village happy. PROTECT THE FUTURE AT THE COST OF THE PAST NIN/TAI/GEN Release(s): Doton - Fuuton - Suiton Special Abilities: Bandage Techniques: While Jizo was recovering from his horribly accident that left him burned on 95 percent of his body he had spent literally months in the hospital. During this time he had learned how to imbue earth style chakra into the hospital bandages and actually make them worth something. He had developed this technique into things much more suited for combat and had actually continued with this style until it became his trademark style. Techniques:[/blockquote] S

History: Every Good Story Has a Prequel
Before Jizo, was his parents and the legacy that was soon to be put onto him. His mother was an entertainer, mostly doing dances and playing instruments for entertainment at large parties or events. She was a very promising young woman from a poor family who was following her dream. She was very beautiful and her name was Kimi. Even though she was just an entertainer and didn't make much off of that business she was able to make enough to pay her rent and keep relatively happy throughout most of her life. She was a feminist a heart thinking that women don't get enough respect and that men are just pigs. She hated the way most men treated her and this very old idea engraved in her is very important to the development of her child. Throughout her professional life though she was rather unhappy, never finding the right amount of satisfation in her work she enjoyed her preformances but all the training and all of the extra things she had to go through in her daily life made her living conditions stressful. She knew her social life was suffering and so she began looking for a man to be in her life.
While poor Kimi had not found her soulmate for a long while, every day she became more of a hopeless romantic even if she never lost her complete independence with herself she still was hoping to find love. She was getting older and would soon reach her prime, she knew it was time for love. Samui however, a simple construction worker who had build his business from the ground up with a hardy entrepreneurial drive was not looking for love at all. To this man love was a distraction that he didn't need when his business was about to start paying him off. He never felt as though the work would be older and while he was indeed several years older than Kimi the two had met under a very interesting circumstance. One night while Samui was out walking he had seen someone trying to steal a purse from a young damsel. Before the man could even get close to the two of them the young woman had been stabbed in the chest and left to die. The money in that purse not enough to buy a whole bowl of ramen and he stabbed her for it.
Fortunately Kimi had been found by Samui, he was able to find her bleeding out on the ground and quickly rushed her to the hospital where she was cured. He didn't actually give this beautiful woman more than a few thoughts before he was told that she was looking for him to thank him. Unlike when he had met her she was now glowing with health and seemed much more attractive to the man. The two had quickly fallen in love and decided to marry within about two years of meeting one another. Having kids was not really an option for Kimi, nobody wanted a pregnant entertainer but Samui offered her to be her secretary at his business or just quit as it was. He was able to make more than enough to support the both of them. She had decided to give up her entertainment career in order to give birth to a child. They were not particularly well known besides the fact that he was involved in many building projects so their children were also rather unknown.
As it turned out she was pregnant, they decided they didn't want more than a few children, one or maybe two if they had a happy accident. They soon found out they were going to have twins! They prepared for their children, trying to pick out names for them and the like. They had no complications and soon had two identical twin boys; one named Niroro and the other named Jizo. These two children were the beautiful outcomes of their love and they knew their children were to have a great future. The town moved on as they did not know one day this child who came from nothing would rise up against the forces of nobility to become the Jishinkage. He was at this time a very simple happy child.
Back To Better Days
The times when he were very young were mostly a blur. He remembers his parents being happy and playing with him and his identical twin bother all the time. There didn't seem to be anything that could go wrong in his life when he was little. His mother always favored his brother over him and always taught him to respect woman and men equally. He was told that respecting everyone equally and never having a bias when it comes to who they are is the most important thing in life. Kimi would not have her kids find women inferior she would slap them silly if they even began to think otherwise. They did not have to go to the ninja academy because their parents hadn't actually considered putting them into it. There was no particular demand for Shinobi even if at the time they were noticing a certain build up of Shinobi. The two hadn't even put their kids through school because they half expected to just continue as things were, their kids would take on the business maybe Samui was not really too sure. All he knew was that now that he had a family he would be forced to take on more responsibility and he actually had thought about putting them in the academy because it was basically free daycare.
The year that Niroro and Jizo had turned seven though, even though they would be behind the two of them were offered to be put into the academy with all of their supplies already paid for. They didn't have to pay for any of the materials that one would normally need and that was because Iwaya was looking to train some more shinobi since while there were more of them, there was not enough for the tension in the city and even a bunch of know nothing genin was more useful than a bunch of useless citizens. It is the kind of place he didn't care to give more attention to but he wanted a good education for the twins and they were certainly giving him an offer he didn't want to refuse. He had signed both of them up for the academy, even if they became a shinobi he could ask them or just one to stop for the business. It makes sense to argue that both children will be smart enough by that time to run the business. The two of them told their dad they were excited to protect the village; the mother however was not excited at all, she didn't want to send her babies to die on those dangerous missions but her husband had convinced her to agree to it.
Niroro had always done better in the academy, even when they were just learning the basics like taijutsu and physical fighting and throwing of shurikens. He was better at ninjutsu and genjutsu, he was better at history and writing and making computations. In fact, Niroro was actually better in every single area of the ninja arts, Jizo was just a loud and happy child who didn't take anything seriously but still seemed to have a better time in the academy than his excelling counterpart. Jizo almost wanted Niroro to switch clothes and take the exam for him since he totally could get away with that them being brothers and all. Niroro was certainly the best at what he did but even as a little kid Jizo was a little flirt, he would flirt with girls and boys though, a little odd to some but he never saw anything wrong with it. He was perfectly happy flirting with whoever he wanted to and didn't really care who it was with. He seemed to have love for everyone and if people didn't like it he they could suck it. He and his brother competed with one another in different ways, Jizo was much better with interpersonal communication skills and deal making and tricking poor saps as well as being more popular while his bother excelled with grades and projects and had an amazing work ethic for a kid.
Finally they were reaching their peak as an academy student. They were well aware they were going to be able to graduate soon and get onto teams. They had to admit they wanted to work together but being on other teams would have also been really awesome. Niroro was on the higher end of the class while Jizo was on the lower, he was not the worst nor did it look like he would fail but everyone knew his brother was plainly and simply a better shinobi. They had taken the exam together and a way to earn extra credit on any part of the test was to preform a jutsu not taught in the academy but still considered worth showing to them. Jizo didn't know any unfortunately, but his brother with an earth affinity as well was able to preform a low level earth technique with relative ease. Niroro with that extra credit had gotten over a 100% on his test while Jizo had just skimmed passed passing and also became a genin, but the gap in power was obvious, still Jizo never really cared much about that being a shinobi was still about all fun and games to him, the reality hadn't hit him yet.
Starting the Adventure of the Shinobi
Niroro and Jizo had actually had the good fortune of being on the same team with one of their close friends a konoichi who went by the name Nami. The three of them had a very nice man for a sensei, he was considered a powerful earth release user but not well known for actual battle more for support constructs and defense. Even so his master over the art of the earth was well known throughout the village and was the man who had taught many very promising shinobi throughout his years on the job. The man was well respected in the village though was also known to have serious drinking issues. The three of them quickly overlooked his frequent inebriation because half the time he taught better drunk because at least he was going to be honest at that point. He was a perfectly nice man who helped the struggling Jizo learn a few earth techniques but still nothing really impressive. He was struggling mostly with his lack of motivation. Sure he could be bribed with things like money and stuff but he never saw why he wanted to be stronger. He wasn't very capable and yet even at this point he was still popular among his peers because he was still more sociable than his twin.
Niroro however was always impressing the sensei with all of those fancy techniques and all of the training he was doing one could argue he was the apitemy of a good student and he was obviously going to get to be a Chunin very soon. He had a seemingly limitless growth rate, while most thought Jizo would be lucky to end up with a Chunin spot in a few years everyone thought Niroro would be able to get the spot within the next year if he worked at the pace he had planned on. The gap between the team was becoming apparent and so the parents figured Jizo would be the one to drop the whole Shinobi nonsense but they needed to wait at least until he was an adult. When he turned 12 though, they found out they had another child coming, a little girl. She was soon brought into the family as well and they thought instead of sending this one the academy like her brothers she could maybe run the business. The offer wasn't being held up by the time she would be old enough to go so maybe these two could continue and Samui was still far from needing someone else to take over, he was barely in his 30's.
It was still not clear to him though Jizo certainly still had interest in being a shinobi so trying to find other ways to make it work he was glad there was someone else who was interested in being the businessman... or woman in this situation. Once he had come to the point where he didn't even need to worry about it he had actually declined and hit a moot point in his career. The last one he ever hit before the current time he just stopped seeming to improve. He wasn't interested in making himself look good but that didn't make him more or less interested in his job in fact he was glad he was a shinobi he just had nothing to need to be proved to anyone any longer. Sure he didn't like the fact people told him if he tried to be more like Niroro he would probably get to Chunin much faster he didn't care. He wanted nothing to do with all that shit so he just decided it would be easier to just kind of relax. His brother was still working hard as ever, what a good guy but he didn't know about all of this. He wanted to become stronger so his brother could rank up but his perseverance was just not there, he just continued as he was hoping he would get to take the exams with his brother.
The brothers and their team mate were all at least decent shinobi by now. Jizo hadn't really found anything really worth mentioning but had certainly come to the point where he was able to defeat the average genin. He was the least suspected to become a Chunin out of the three but after two years the young man was deemed at least somewhat worthy of the position and by that his sensei meant that Niroro was the one who was going to be getting the position if anyone. It was a rather sad thought to think that nobody was really rooting for him. He didn't feel like everyone was going to cheer him on if his brother was going to be the one who was the star of Iwaya. He didn't envy that fact, he really did admire his brother for his perseverance. The two held no ill will even if the two of them seemed more like little and older brother. Even in stature his brother was much more built and much taller than the still well built but skinny and shorter Jizo. Jizo was excited to see his brother was going to finally become a genin. That great Iwaya hardiness was certainly something the two shared and if there was something they both knew it was that with a few flying fists everything would work out.
You Lost Half
The Chunin Exams! Damn it seemed like forever to the young trio. Nami, Niroro and Jizo were all excited to finally become Chunin. They all knew Niroro was a favorite to become a Chunin and that Nami was also somewhat favored. Nobody expected Jizo to claim the position. He was not particularly interested in such things but he did want his team to win and so for the betterment of the team he would try his best to become a Chunin and to cheer on the others. He was going to be supportive and try his best to make everything work out. Jizo at this point was still more or less a slacker. He didn't really have much potential as many people saw it but some thought he could be a Chunin if he really tried at it one day. The fact that he had leadership skills that were much more developed than his simply muscle counterpart, some people thought in that respect he would make a great teacher and a great Chunin one day as a leader but up until that point he was more or less useless. His jutsu was so so and that being the bread and butter of his entire ranking set, some thought he was never going to make Chunin. If you have so-so jutsu you have a so-so rank.
The exams started with a test with hard as shit answers, things he didn't even know how to answer but he couldn't quit or else his whole team was going to go berserk. He was not excited for this test, he saw that it was way to hard for him to even think to complete it. He didn't think to try and get answers elsewhere. He didn't even think this whole deal with the cheating thing was actually worth his time. It wasn't every year he got a test like that and he did his best to answer it learning soon after that that the whole test was nothing more than a fluke in order to promote cheating. He didn't even think about cheating, he was too damn good for that and yet the others seemed to figure that he was just some moron. This was not the kind of situation he was meant to do, he wasn't going to be able to become a chunin but for the moment he just needed to go as things were. Apparently Niroro and Nami had both finished the exam completing every question while their counterpart Jizo had finished five out of the 10 and most of those would have been incorrect. He rejoiced in the fact that he was right, but now was the time for the second exam, a survival exam.
The place they had done it this year was a legendary swamp that was known to swallow the lives of many promising shinobi. It had always been a place that had been feared even by those who lived near it. It didn't seem like the kind of place that someone should be going into of their own will. The kinds of things one would find in here is truly terrifying. Niroro and his powerful Earth Release techniques as well as also seeming to have picked up decent genjutsu and decent taijutsu over the past few years as well. Nami used Water Release but had still considerably powerful techniques compared to the loud and useless Niroro. The trio, ignorant of their futures had stepped into the swamp the covered almost six miles. The end was in the center but that year you had to obtain a special scroll and that seemed like it was going to be hard. The Nami and Jizo were relying on Niroro, who was considered one of the "Rookie's to beat" was probably going to be fine, even in a place like this.
At the moment, the boy was still afraid to see what was in here. As they had come into the swamp they could already hear screams and he knew that this place was a boneyard. It was an obnoxious idea to consider that they would be the ones to come out on top since normally only a small number ever make it to these scrolls. Apparently, there were only 10 meaning only 30 could get there and he heard that if people got their hands on more than one people might end up destroying the competition. The three of them were not surprised to hear that people were dying left and right but soon they found themselves in a very awkward position. One team was being challenged by two teams from the same village. The two teams had decided that they would work together to destroy the team form Iwaya and then work fight for the scroll since one of the teams actually had one. The two teams began their assault on these three, most of them going for Niroro and Nami, only one who didn't even look that good was facing Jizo. This know-nothing shinobi was having trouble against this seemingly stupid shinobi. It was pretty embarrassing, to think that they were actually all losing to Niroro though.
Soon though... the tables were turning. Sure Jizo had managed to barely knock out his enemy with a lucky hit but Niroro was taking on an entire team at once while Jizo continued to assist Nami with the other two from the other mans team. Even if Niroro was kicking ass to start, not anymore. He began to get punched around and while Jizo and Nami wanted to help the two they were fighting were just starting shit. It was a situation that told him this was bad. Even as Nami was able to take care of the two of them with one of her more powerful techniques. By the time the two looked over though, something was wrong. That feeling that Niroro was going to be there was gone, he didn't know how to express it, he just knew. He looked over in distraught wondering what all of this meant. He saw his twin brother, a boy who had made his whole life off of something more than Jizo die. He had taken a severe lightning technique right through the heart, he was fried alive by the last efforts of the last shinobi. Nami and Jizo ran towards the young man, sure the scroll was right there but Niroro was long gone. There was no epic last words or meaningful goodbye he was just murdered.
The two were too distressed over the situation of Niroro to even take notice to the young shinobi as he fell off the tree and into the water. Nami quickly composted herself, it was not something the two of them wanted to do but they felt Niroro wanted them to finish it. Scroll in hand the now incomplete team had managed to come all the way to the end. they were only one of three teams to make it in the allotted time. Something that seemed so impossible at the moment now became the reality as the eight shinobi. Two Iwayagakure, three Shippugakure and three Mizumigakure shinobi ended with the title of survivors. Out of the 10 scrolls they determined the rest were either burned or found too late. The news about Niroro greatly saddened the Iwayagakure shinobi who had come with them, he was so capable and defeated a whole team almost single handedly but in the end lost his life in that what seemed at the time and even now like a meaningless squabble. Obviously the twin was distraught. He was being given a month to stay here and train for the final fight. It was something at the time he couldn't care less about.
Nami and Jizo were now lost in their first week of training with their sensei being just as shocked as they were. His star player was now gone and he was left with a half decent shinobi and the rookie twin of his old player. It was a hard pill for the two to swallow. Nami had done her best to mourn her partner while going out and practicing every so often. Jizo on the other hand spent the first week on solitude. He was not interested in this stupid fucking exam anymore and he was not interested in this life if it meant he was going to die over something so trivial. Soon though, he came to a revelation. Sitting in the dark he realized his brother would not want this for him. Niroro was always telling him how if Jizo died he would carry out the wishes of his twin. Jizo needed to become strong and protect the village, for the sake of his brother. He had a new found goal and the wish to become more than what he was. While a this point in time he had to admit he had lost a bit of that spunk he was so used to his sensei promised to teach him how to become one with the shadows. He would teach Jizo as much as he could about camouflage and chakra suppression and how to become a true master of concealment.
Over those next few weeks the young man didn't learn any techniques that involved power. Fact of the matter was that while power was great he didn't actually care for such things. He didn't feel that power always won fights, maybe one day devastating power would be his but just for the moment the art of trickery and the art of concealment were the things he needed the most. People noticed he was much more quiet nowadays, he didn't talk as much and certainly unlike his obnoxiously loud self. He had come to a point when he was able to become more serious, his growth potential was apparently very similar to his brothers just much more unrealized. Over those three weeks he had come to learn three new techniques, provided the three new techniques were all rather basic and were far from perfection they were all essential to his growth as shinobi and even today are considered a few of the staple techniques that he owns. The training was rather intense but only involved a small portion of fighting.
The time had finally come, he was becoming a greater shinobi in a shorter time than years of practice had gained him. He had survived the first fight, not actually doing much fighting but keeping himself hidden from the enemy and letting the shinobi wear himself out. His half decent techniques were only enough to knock the guy out. Everyone seemed shocked this know nothing Iwayagakure shinobi was actually useful for something. His apparent new art form of concealing himself and learning how to blend in as well as those new techniques led him to victory. However in the fight proceeding this, he lost rather quickly to the swift punishment a Shippugakure shiobi from the same team had brought upon him. The man was actually a sensor of all things, obnoxiously finding through his concealing and hiding. The verdict seemed clear, though he had lost they saw that his skills were sufficient to a Chunin. Provided his jutsu's were lacking in finesse the fact that he grasps the concept of concealment and the fact that he is not actually bad with Ninjutsu or Taijutsu made him at least good enough that year to become a Chunin. His partner had also been able to rank up, she was much better in one area even if she lacked in the other areas.
A New Found Perseverance
With his brother dead, Jizo had began to take the life of a shinobi much more seriously. Niroro was now dead and he wanted to become a good shinobi for the both of them. While he was still rather weak for a Chunin he had continued to learn different forms of concealment, and while that was his best skill as were things like Recon in the first place people were finding the need to take the once very popular goof off Jizo much more seriously. While he still remained popular he was always becoming stronger at this point. That odd plateau that he had once hit was now finished, from here on out he promised himself he would never stop growing stronger for not only the sake of his brother but for himself. He was never going to watch anyone else died, or so he promised himself. He had no plans on becoming anything like Jishinkage but he certainly didn't have any reason to think so. Even at this point he was working for everything that came to him. Even the current Kage was a man who didn't do shit for himself, he was just so talented and well connected that he was given the position.
Jizo hadn't questioned the man, the Kage was a good man provided he had many flaws. Then again Jizo had become a man of the shadows as it seemed. He had worked harder on his general techniques than he did on his Earth Release jutsu. He seemed to actually avoid fights more often than most and during this time he was looking to grow as a Recon expert more than anything else. The fact that he was getting into this meant that people began to see that he was really going to become a truly strong individual. He was very popular so his support and seemingly endless compliments on his new found strength were making him glad while at the same time he noticed that most of them dealt with his brother. It seemed rather obnoxious. He didn't quite understand why they were all going to compare him to his brother. It had never bothered him before now but now that his brother was dead, it was hard to think about him and hearing that he would be proud and you're doing him well and he'd be so excited to see you're doing so well always seemed to bother him even if it was only a little bit.
As far as missions went, he only had conflict a few times over those nice years. The Jishinkage had normally assigned him recon missions for the obvious reasons. Everything about him had become about those technique even though most people suggested he become more involved in his Earth Release Techniques as well as the Jishinkage. It was a little obnoxious but they all respected there was one thing he was really good at. His ability to hide away from the world also meant he hid from hi s village. It was slightly disturbing to some knowing that he could totally be watching and sometimes that what he would do. He would hide away for a week and do whatever the hell he wanted. He never seemed to care much about what others had to say, he was always rather stubborn about the fact that he was going to learn how to hide himself from the world. He wanted to be left alone sometimes, this was the best way to do it while still being able to be called upon for missions and not leave the safety of his village.
During this time he had also met a man, the shinobi's name was Agari. Agari was a decent Chunin, but over the time they had known each other Jizo had quickly surpassed him in every area besides battle. It became obvious quickly that Jizo was not meant to fight, or at least he did not take interest in such things at this time because he always someone else to fight for him and he was mainly a recon man. Rather contradictory to his goal of protecting others when he can't even defend himself really but as it seems he has thought of his part in the whole, not bringing everything upon himself. Anyway, this man Agari was the same age as Jizo and by this time Jizo was in his late teens (it had been several years since becoming a chunin at this point) and the two had fallen in love. While the two of them were not able to see each other all the time since Agari was mainly a fighter and his lover a Recon besides times when the Kage felt there would be conflict of interest he sent the two of them together. The man didn't give a shit if they were in love or whatever they actually did work very well together, he just hoped they would both make the right choice.
It seemed like the Jonin Exams were going to be taken rather soon, something he wasn't too interested in doing even though he had been a Chunin for almost six years now and was now in his early 20's. He and Agari had been together for a long while now. A well known couple and even though the parents did not approve Jizo had a sister who could carry on the genes, they didn't really need him. It seemed like everything was going well though, he and Agari decided to take the exam together and while that might mean fighting they were prepared to kick each others ass for the village. They didn't expect to do that well when it seemed like there were many more Chunin much more powerful than the two of them but for people like Jizo it was not just about power, it was about having the skills necessary to become an effective Jonin and shinobi or konoichi throughout their respective villages. The two of them had found that they had completed many missions, they were actually asked if they were going to take the exam by the Jishinkage and both said yes because they had asked him. It seemed like a natural progression even if the danger involved made the Chunin Exam look like a play date.
The Greater Danger
Jizo and Agari found out the Jonin Exams in that year were being taken in a village called Mizumigakure. They had both been there by this time but found that it was rather peaceful. They were told they had to go in pairs of three to the village. Naturally Jizo and Agari went together but had also found themselves another partner which was a user to Bakuton. The girl was very nice and seemed to be powerful so the three of them got along rather well. On their way there they had seen something. While Jizo was not actually a sensor provided he was able to hide from them rather well he still noticed the rustling of the leaves. The three of them were put on edge only to learn that it was a man who appeared to be a rogue ninja. They were so close to the village and now this guy was actually going to come up and attack them on their way to the exam? They didn't have time for it but they quickly learned this guy was really tough. Even if the Agari's and Ia (the girl with Bakuton) they did not have much to defeat him. The man asked where the other one went but Jizo was making sure to hide for the moment.
Soon, when the two of them were worn out but had at least done their best Jizo began his offensive on the man. He had continued to hide as he tricked the man with clones and the Underground Fish Projection Technique. Even so throughout the whole time he was just waiting. The man took no time at all to learn they were not real clones, that was until he got a good knock in the face with an earth clone. Those things fucking hurt, don't they? The whole time, save hand seals Jizo was hiding in the trees about them. Agari and Ia were both actually pretty impressed with his techniques, while he again was not much of a fighter he had seen many shinobi fight and that was one of his favorites. He had never been one for close quarter contact and now he was able to make that possible. They had continued to the village to learn they had about two days to rest. Over those two days Mizumigakure had become much more festive. The whole of the Jonin's, about 200 strong had gotten onto four boats. They sailed off to the exams.
On their way, something was wrong. The waves were becoming unsettling and nobody could tell why. As it turned out the Kage was making the situation harder as they saw pirate shinobi come on. Many people fought but if these men were not able to incapacitate their pirators they would not make it to the island. Jizo had quickly hidden and preformed the Splitting Technique he had learned only that year. It was the single highest ranked technique he could argue to have learned but knew it was much more effective than any other cloning technique. He had appeared to be incapacitated and everyone, even Agari and Ia had been knocked out with a red X on their forehead telling that they were out. Even the senors could not pick him up, as Jizo appeared before the captain with no red X on his head (which did not come off until a certain time and could not just be rubbed off) it seemed the man was in shock. He couldn't do anything but smirk at the lone shinobi. This was the easy part and all the guy did was hide. He was given the chance to get to island. Everyone else had to let their lone passenger continue to the test. Some were happy others were angry, either way he was the only one going.
Finally they had arrived on the island where they had learned that out of the 200 boat passengers only 16 had managed to survive throughout the raids. They had been told that at this point there were eight paths to the same place and that the end goal was their form of getting the final exam. Some paths held great beasts, others held hoards of shinobi, others had only one extremely powerful shinobi. Others had nothing at all. They hadn't expected so many people to come through though, so they told them to pair up in threes or twos since there were only six paths. They had expected only two or three to actually make it but since so many had they were going to have a few helpers get them to the final round. Since most of these individuals were actually Kajingakure ninja that had come on the same boat and used teamwork to defeat their raiders they had all paired up. The rest of them made their pairs leaving another group of three and then just Jizo. They asked Jizo if he was alright with being alone knowing that he might have to fight a group of three since some of the paths require that one does. He accepted that fact, maybe he would get lucky. With five groups of three and then Jizo, they began the next exam. If they lost to the beasts and the hoards and the powerful ones, at best they imagined around a fourth would be depleted. Only one path was with beasts, one had a hoard, one had a powerful Jonin. The other three actually converged at the same time. The barrier only allowed for one team to pass through though, so that's six down right there no matter what.
Jizo had walked down the second path. He wondered what it would be like having to fight whomever it was he was going to have to fight but considering how hard it has been to get here so far he assumed his luck was going to have to run out sooner or later. Soon he had seen a gate and wondered what it was for. He didn't imagine he could have been there after only about half an hour of walking but here was the gate and something told him since there was nothing here yet, he was early. Soon though, with a earth shattering thud two creatures had happened upon him. One giant Gorilla and one giant Jaguar. Both looked to be rather high up when it came to the higherarcy of the food chain. He has assumed they were summons but even to this day he has no idea since both of them seem pretty beastly compared to the rather noble personality most of the summons hold. They might have been just two really huge animals that both just so happened to breath fire. He knew he was probably going to die here, he had been told that facing the beasts probably meant death if you lost since they were not going to intervene, if they saw you died that's a damn shame but they wont be looking for you until a day after. Even the exam itself you only had about seven hours to complete.
He had hid himself from the two of them. He realized they would continue to thrash around and they could probably find him through sense of smell alone so he decided to use his splitting technique again. Now at least if they smelled him it would become harder to find him even if with this technique both of them were technically him. He did his best to hide from site and do everything else in his power to hide. He realized early on that these two were probably not going to go down with any of the less than impressive Earth Release techniques he knows. He decided lots of explosions and lots of Kunai were necessary for this job. Quickly he had started to use up his explosive tags and flash bombs in order to get these two to finally fall but alas, even as he depleted his resources and heard screams from other teams around him he wasn't able to defeat the two of them with his weaponry. He wasn't quite sure what else to use but as they continued to attack he realized his supply of chakra was getting low from having to use it to move around faster to dodge attacks as well as using some basic jutsu. He had pulled himself together and did his best to devise a plan. Soon he thought of one that might just work.
He had gotten onto the back of the Gorilla. It was dumb and slow and generally wasn't going to be much use to him other than beating him to a pulp. The creature couldn't do much about him since he was in a spot the beast couldn't reach. Quickly though his plan sprung into action as the Jaguar attacked the Gorilla. He jumped off in time to see the Gorilla pushed into a large tree and knocking it out while the Jaguar seemed to now have gotten a bum leg from the Gorillla hitting it. It seemed like his plan had actually worked! The young shinobi had proceeded to use the few earth techniques he knew to finish off and bum out the already limping behemoth. Jizo realized that by now he was getting to the point where he lack of fighting ability wasn't going to make him a Jonin. Without others he wasn't able to rely on others to fight for him and now he was seeing that while focusing on concealment was a great thing, his lack of fighting ability was certainly also showing as a large problem but at least he had managed to open up the gates. As it seemed he was the first one, most were shocked to see someone had actually managed to defeat the beasts, but were glad that the lone Iwayagakure shinobi was still in the running. He had been serviced with medical attention and had soon seen just one more team end up getting out. It was sad to know that only four had managed to finish the whole thing by the time the time limit ran out.
Many people were proud of Jizo, he had come so far and he was getting better all the time but now, now he had to do something more. He was given this time only one week to restock items and prepare himself for the possibly two battles that lied ahead. Only four could be chosen to become Jonin this year. It was normally a much less difficult Exam. Sometimes it's lazily put together but the first trial of being attacked by a lower ranked jonin on your way to the city. In addition to the fact that you had to survive the boat raid in such conditions as they were, then to have to go ahead right after that boat ride and go through the trials of the forest. It was truly a hard decision to argue that these four if not some from before were going to be chosen but it is what it is. Most Kage's after realizing what the situation was were getting to the point where they were willing to make almost anyone who passed those three trials a Jonin. However they still wanted to see the four of them in the arena. Most thought highly of Jizo as it was because he had defeated two megabeasts single handedly. The other three had managed to defeat two other teams or maybe just come upon them late and just so happen to defeat them. Though most people snickered when they heard who Jizo was fighting. Some Azulon Sho, apparently the favorite to be a Jonin this year in the first place.
As it seemed, the man was supposed to have plenty of power for the two of them. He was apparently going to wipe the floor with Jizo. He hadn't had a clue what the man used but considering he was from Kajingakure he assumed it was impressive fire jutsus. Even so, Jizo had decided to stock up on weapons and work on things like learning how to make his current jutsus and techniques slightly better for the situations at hand. He didn't have time like before to prepare and stuff like that so he spent most of his time developing new ways to use the current techniques he already knew about. As he and his enemy entered the ring, he had found that there was something interesting about the man. He was said to be a favorite but Jizo did not know why. As the man pulled out two swords he saw that the man apparently had to ability to heat his swords so that they would cause burns on contact. A nasty ability but if this was how the fight was going to go he had to at leave give it a shot. He heard something from the crowd, it seemed to be a nickname of swords. Kouseitaniken Sho or "Element Sword Sho" was what he had been named. As it seemed this man was special and had actually learned how to imbue his swords with every element of the 5 normal elements. His swords were able to take down most ninjutsu that was not a kekkei genkai. A truly fearsome warrior but he didn't realize he was dealing with a guy who could hide so well.
The man began slashing up everything he could find, even as Jizo moved around he had used the splitting technique once again to continue to hide and the moment he found one the other would make his strike. Sensors would have been able to tell what happened but this man was just force. Jizo had remained optimistic because while the man dodged his shuriken for the moment he would eventually have to make the choice. Jizo had managed to strap a small set of explosive tags, or at least enough to do some serious damage and threw them all off at the man. He had quickly figured out the game, he was thinking shadow clones, which would have probably been a better idea provided Jizo knew that technique. He came after one his his halfs as the explosion went off, sure that Jizo had been hurt a little in the explosion but thankfully the shinobi had taken a brunt of the force. He was not really using any special techniques he was just able to hide from attack. The two of them had already moved and continued to hide but not before setting off a flash bomb. and using an earth style technique while he was still down to seal the deal and knock him out. Everyone was in shock he had lost so easily, but then again, how can someone beat what they can't find? It's the kind of thing that was useful for most situations but the Kage's certainly did noticed a lack of ability with his jutsus.
He had fought his next opponent who used lightning techniques. He was still not really able to find his opponent and was taken down. Using the same trick in every challenge was getting old even so the ability to use this technique with such proficiency was what made him able to become a Jonin. Two of the other three, interestingly the two who fought Jizo were also promoted or so he heard. He was promoted to Jonin but mainly for things like recon and also becoming the invisible guardian of the current Jishinkage. He was able to hide himself from most sensors even those of the Hyuga Clan were finding it difficult if not impossible to find him with the degree that his concealment techniques were allowing him to keep away from those who thought they were the best with things of that nature. His interest in this technique told him why he was chosen for the position he was given. Apparently there was a rustle about people like him, masters of the shadows and whatnot. He was able to handle positions like that and so he decided there was not much else to do or say other than wait in the darkness until he was needed.
Burn Baby Burn
After about five or six years on the job. Jizo had grown a lot as a Shinobi. Even to that day though while he was capable but only to a degree with earth style he had never quite picked up any secondary style or even began learning how to use the more powerful other attacks that he should be able to preform. He wasn't quite sure how he was going to be using those since he almost never fought and when he did most of the time using Jutsu was near impossible for him to use it without being seen. For the most part he didn't rely on those and though he knew concealment was a limited art and eventually he would be put into a bad situation he was less than interested in doing much about it. He had something he was really good with and planned on making it as perfect as he could. He knew even if he shifted interests to another form of jutsu this would still be his main style of fighting. From the shadows and unknown to people is the reality of this Jonin. Since he was the personal invisible guardian to the Jishinkage though, he had been asked to come on a mission with the Kage where he was supposed to meet with some crime lord. He was going to pay the man for his leave from their country, a substantial amount and get them to move into the Land of Tornados and go terrorize Soragakure.
Interestingly, Agari since becoming a Jonin has also become a bodyguard for the man, or at least for this mission was asked to assist the Jishinkage. Though the Jishinkage had only brought an apparent two guardians, he and another were very much there just watching from a distance. Others like Agari were coming from the flanks incase something were to happen to them. The Jishinkage had entered the mansion, but it seemed like it was already too late. A huge explosion went off in the house, Jizo knew something had gone terribly wrong and soon could hear the screams of all their men. He had to wonder if Agari was alright. He was better with the art of not being seen than his partner who he learned was quickly found and attacked and killed. When he was finally able to find Agari, he didn't really see the Agari he knew. Agari had died from a Kunai in the chest. Jizo was almost too devistated to keep up his defenses and let everyone see him but he knew he had to survive. Unfortunately the master had something else in mind to make sure nobody got out their alive. He had rigged the only way out with hundreds if not thousands of explosive tags. The sheer explosion would kill anyone who crossed it. Jizo had seen that his allies were in a pack, he had no idea about these and so they all went together to get out.
When they finally crossed the passageway though, a huge explosion had blown most of them to kingdom kung. The fact that Jizo had actually managed to survive long enough in order to be saved by small village folk from a village just outside who wanted to see what all the commotion was about. They had found his burned body, actually more than 95 percent of his body had suffered third degree burns only a small portion of his face and the top of his head managed to remain unscathed as well as another key area that was certainly nice it wasn't burned but then again he always made sure nothing happened to that. He was unconcious for many days until finally an Iwayagakure shinobi found him. He rested there with his fallen comrade until Jizo finally came to. His body was still basically impossible to move especially without a team of medical nin. It seemed like this would become irreversible as it was and that things like this were just a stroke of bad luck. When Jizo was able to get out the story to his comrade his comrade had sent a pidegon to go out and give word to retrieve the body of Jizo. When the had come upon him the news was awful to hear but they were able to knock him out for the moment and begin trying to save his life.
He was in and out of surgery and things of the like for two months. At that point it was coming into scar tissue and he was finally able to move around a little though his wounds would often open back up. The bandages that covered his still healing wounds even after all that time needed to be replaced a lot. Soon the man found the comfort of bandages nice and fun to have. Interestingly while he was in there he noticed that using earth imbued chakra on these bandages hardened them. These things were actually able to possibly cause some damage if done right. He had spent at least another five or six months in the care center, learning how to master this strange new form of techniques. Ever since that time he has also always had at least problematic medical issues. Some of the burns had gotten into his lungs and so he always has trouble breathing as well as being know to have blood coughed up often. His mastery of this odd new style of bandage based technique would prove interesting as he reapplied to be put back into service. Most thought this thirty something guy was bat shit crazy but he certainly was an Iwayagakure shinobi when you could see he was too stubborn to let something like that stop him when he was still alive.
His new bandage techniques seemed to be popular among the village. Creating one owns style of technique seemed to be something looked well upon and even to this day people still respect it even though most at least try to imitate it but can't seem to get it to his level or even much at all. It was one of those things he more or less just figured out without really knowing the mechanics behind it. Stick a shinobi in the hospital for that long though he was sure they would come up with something. He had managed to get back into business within a year and half of the accident. By that time a young and ignorant new Jishinkage was appointed to the position. This guy was the apitemy of a guy with a shitton of power and he knew it. He made a horrible Jishinkage as it stood. He was powerful in the art of jutsu but as far as it came to relations with other villages he was the worst. He brought them to the brink of war so many times it wasn't even funny. If it wasn't for his genius advisor he would have died long before he got through the time that he did. Most people did not like the man, but they respected the fact that he was Jishinkage. They certainly knew that one day he was going to get his dumb ass killed and nobody seemed to care really. He was the kind of guy someone was just there to deal with and not much else. Even so Jizo had been dedicated to him and to learning how to fight. Jizo figured if he could really learn these jutsus he would be able to become stronger than ever and finally be useful to the village.
Tolerate Stares and Become Powerful
Throughout most of his thirtees he wasn't actually given many missions because of his phyical condition. The new Jishinkage thought of him as a bother and so rarely trusted him to take on mission that Jizo would accept. Even if even at that time he was one of the best users of the concealing arts he was certainly never being shown off as such. The young man said he believed in the youth of individuals, that those who have went through much like Jizo need to settle down but even so the thirty something man was far from accepting of this fact. Over the course of several years he had increased his knowledge and his power. Learning how to preform powerful techniques with not only his Earth Release but also with the bandages and with Wind Release. He had managed to learn a lot about his power and his limits. His physical prowess was certainly something to be noticed, he rarely ever used anything other than his own power to make things work for him. He had become very powerful even for being so beaten and emotionally bruised. He had never found another person in his life like Agari. But at that point he was focused on making his village happy in place of their incompetent Jishinkage.
His power seemed to be noticed by the members of the community. Soon he was showing that he was actually doing more for the village than their Kage. He was helping anyone who needed it and started using his jutsu for good and not just to hurt others. He had never killed anyone and certainly did not plan on it. His techniques were to be used for the good of the village and since becoming a guard to the gates people had started to notice that even though scary things came their way which their Kage normally became involved in they were being stopped at the door by none other than Jizo. He was never known to have much more power than the average person, he was never known to have a large chakra pool or anything like that he was just able to persevere. He was the kind of guy who kept on going until there was nothing left. The amount of stress on the boy though, it was actually very impressive to think about because he was always having to deal with his injuries and his cardiovascular and respiratory issues were apparent. His power had become good enough to be considered among the top of the village. People wondered why he was never allowed out and yet they seemed to always figure it was because of the bias of their Jishinkage.
Sadly, by the time Jizo was in his early 40's this man was already a nearly fat and useless lard of words and orders. He had gained a couple pounds and certainly wasn't getting better with keeping his emotions in check. He wasn't really doing much in the sense of keeping the village feeling safe as they watched their lazy Kage become less and less active in their community. While it was obvious that this guy was useful for using many powerful techniques, not much else. Many people were out to mutiny him after over 10 years of useless bullshit from the man. Some thought Jizo could make a much superior Jishinkage but nobody said anything because people had a way of disappearing if they said anything less than wonderful about their Jishinkage. The man was truely a tyrant who could not be stopped. Everyone hoped he would pass on soon because they were not interested in keeping him around much longer. They were not really sure about him and now that he was really going to be like this most of them were about ready to take him out. Interestingly they happened to find a way to do it without making it their fault per say.
The village had managed to fall under the brow of the Land of Storms. It seemed like a rather interesting time for the man to actually piss them off considering they were becoming more powerful and around this time they had launched a large scale attack on the village. Mostly the man wanted the Kage dead, see, the villagers weren't the only one. The villagers were told who they were looking for and quickly handed the man over as they assisted in his fall. The village was finally free of the Kage who they did not have for very long compared to the last one but quickly elected Jizo to become their new kage before anthing was to happen on the higher ups. They didn't trust those old windbags anymore and so everyone decided it would be in their best interest to shut the hell up. Jizo, protector of the children had come the man who was able to bring this world to peace. He was only just elected but was already making peace with the other areas. Most people thought despite his rather gruff voice, and unlikely appearance he was a very respectful man. Well liked and while he had a rather sardonic sense of humor he was willing to do anything for anyone as long as he felt justified.
Life as the Jishinkage
Over the last 16 years since he has become the Jishinkage he has seen many of the greater Kage's leave his vision. Many new Kage's only being permitted to become so recently. He is the last Kage from his generation it seems. How sad is that? He wonders how all these kids are so strong these days. He has generally kept his rowdy bunch without too much conflict. He is somewhat a calm man even if he is one of the most stubborn people you would have ever met. Over these last seventeen years he has come to the point where he might have stopped growing. That seems unsure to him but then again most things do. His body now doesn't seem to have much else than countless scars upon burned flesh. He is still a force to be trifled with and while he is certainly the most experienced kage some find that he might also be getting a little old. His body is still disturbing to some, they find that he looks better with the bandages and in the black attire he is normally seen wearing. Many who meet him find that he is a very nice man with very nice attitude about everything but also a man you really don't want to cross.
People in the village have now become much more peaceful. Their rebellious mentality still exists but most people trust their kage. Nothing severe has happened since Jizo has been put into the position. He is the kind of guy someone would trust given the chance and time after time he proves himself. He is a very interesting character and while the village has always done it's best to accommodate him and his illnesses he is still not many years from death. He will live on just a little bit longer and he knows he certainly even now has the power to defend his village. He is a man not made the Jishinkage from his natural talent, of which he actually has very little but more so of his perseverance. He is a veteran who has had many unfortunate situations in his life. He is the kind of man who will never give up and while he finds that many things in his current life are less than interesting he will continue on as the Jishinkage until the point at which he dies. Jizo has reason to believe that will be within a few years, his sickness is getting worse and with his body becoming even more frail, he feels his dying breath will be in his final battle. Even so he is at peace with this fact and continues on as a leader of the community and a leader of the shinobi world's future.
