God.....damn it.....ouch.....
Kuso continued to run, each step feeling as if he had taken over a thousand. He needed to do this; it had been way too long since last time. But it hurt so much! But he would be better for it. But this would be all he could do today! But tomorrow he would be able to do more.
Okay, no more vagueness. The boy had taken up the ancient, practical art of weighted training. In this case, he had tied multiple sandbags to his arms, forearms, thighs, calves, ankles, and also around his neck. While he could lift each individual bag my himself, together they were heavy enough to where he could only manage to drag the pile.
Fortunately, they were evenly spaced throughout his body enough to where he could still move, though at a slug's pace. Working at it all day, however, brought the boy to become more accustomed to the weight and could actually run.
That didn't eliminate the pain. No, it definitely did not.
He had been at it for nearly five hours, and he was definitely feeling the burn. Mmmmm. Maybe it was time to take a break. Nah, he could go for a few more minutes. Or maybe longer. How about another hour? Two hours?
Yes, Kuso definitely knew his mind would destroy his body one day like this, though it is what made him the person he is today.
BEEP BEEP BEEP The Genin reached into his shinobi pack, pulling out a stopwatch. It was already an hour since? Guh.
He fell onto the flats of his palms, balancing himself on the tips of his toes. A schedule he set for himself, the boy would do one hundred push-up and two hundred sit-ups with the weights attached. Since he was working on cardio all day long, he would make sure to stop and take a quick break to work on his muscular endurance.
Mind you, this had been going on for five hours. The boy knew his body was far past its limits, but he continued to work to make himself stronger.
One, two, three, four, five, six...
Kuso would continue to work his muscles, praying for a cool breeze to inspire him to continue. [/style] |

The Village was shining like a golden star in the black heavens this day. The Sun was high raining down it’s warm rays, and the sky was so blue it made the sea jealous. Tou Stood atop a roof, the building in question his very own Kage complex. His assistant would be going crazy, tearing through the building he stood atop, looking for him to set him back to his duties of paper work. It was so boring and while it needed to be done, she could handle it for one afternoon.
His shirt open as it normally was, displayed his bodily perfection fit for a god. Long ago he had reached this pinnacle for the body and stood as a beacon for all who wished to do the same. A small breeze picked across the buildings, sending his shit behind him wiping and tussling his hair as the man stood, hands in his pockets and eyes closed. Allowing the suns radiance to cover him a little longer. And then, in less then an instant, he was gone.
Walking along the rooftops a few blocks away the kages speed hadn’t wavered in all this time. He was pleased with his minor display to himself, smiling as his eyes opened ever so slightly. He was wondering around the village, not trying to be noticed but some caught him, stopping and staring in awe as the man they held in high esteem came strolling across the buildings past them. It was a rare day we was able to just walk about the village, and to catch sight of him for many was like seeing a celebrity.
As his afternoon noon travels went, he found himself near the training yards, and a beeping caught his attention. Turning his head just so, he saw a boy, covered in sand bags falling, in what seemed like an attempt to push the earth away form him. His face was strained and his skin was red hot form working, sweat covered him and yet he pressed on. Now theres a boy after Tou’s own heart. Smiling a bit more the kage vanished once more. Now leaning against one of the few trees in the mostly open field, Tou watched the boy, his speed had brought with him a small breeze and the man savored it before speaking.
“Trying to surpass me are you?” A moderate question, a smile of amusement would tell the kage was humored by the training. He was excited to see people training in taijutsu, his close companion. But to see people do was also entertaining to one who was a master of the art form. His little question was more or less a comment on the boys laborious effort and the fact that what the kage was so well known for was Taijutsu, it was a bit of a joke. However it was taken, Tou was interested to see how the boy, so dedicated to his work, would turn out. Genin were such curious things now a days.

The sun beat down against his dark hair, burning his crying scalp as he continued to do push-ups. His muscles were even more on fire than his skin was, as the already exhausted fibers were straining to keep the boy's torso just enough off the ground. Still, his mind would not let him stop.
A powerfully pleasing sensation moved from one side of his body to the other, as a cool gust had answered his prayers. He stopped his action to take in the full ecstasy of the moment, a broken sigh escaping his maw. The little things were the ones that kept him going. Little things like Kuso! Ha, funny.
Kuso's ears rang as the man standing just a few yards away from him asked him a question. What? How did the boy not hear him sneak up? This guy...
His head shakily turned to face the stranger.
This man. It was...he was the...how could he be...he definitely was...
The first person in the village Kuso didn't know. Maybe he was a foreigner or something. Though, strangely enough, he felt that the image of his face was that of a famous person's, as it seemed familiar enough to feel comfortable around.
He had no idea who the guy was, but he would humor his question anyway.
"Well...I don't have try...I'll just do it..." he said, panting between every few words. Kuso continued to look the man over. Who the hell was he?
"And I guess...I should thank you...for the breeze..."

The boy seemed to stop, but not in notice of the man to his side. Curious, he was so into his exercise he was losing track of the outside world. Many times had Tou himself fallen to this. So utterly consumed with the act, the task, the mission, that nothing else mattered, the world would seem to fall form him and all he could think, see, breathe, and live was the moment. Things he lived for during his shinobi career, things that got many others hurt. His thought started with a smile, still looking at the boy, but soon he was only looking in the child’s direction, his eyes lost to memory for the moment and his smile fading to a straight line.
The boy’s response was vaguely heard, although distantly, and the question jarred him a bit, causing Tou to refocus on the boys face. The older man smiled again, leaning straight back against the tree so could lean straight backed. ”Well I doubt you’ll ever “do it” if just a few push ups cause such labored breathing child.” A slight grin followed his remark. He liked this boy, full of confidence and vigor… much like him at that age.
The boys look was a bit questioning to Tou, maybe he didn’t recognize him? All the better! Tou hated going everywhere and being recognized right away was so bothersome sometimes. Plus word could travel and his assistant could find him… now that’d be simply awful. Better this boy didn’t know him, although that was funny in itself. Who doesn’t know the leader of their own village?
”Ahh the breeze. I suppose so, you look like you could use a rest there. Taijutsu training to much for you is it?” The old picking on the youth. Not much, and Tou could remember a time when they use to do the same to him. He knew now that it fired him up and pushed him to do more, to show them what he was really capable of. If they hadn’t, maybe he wouldn’t be such a powerful figure that he was now. Who knows, but it was also kinda interesting to see how people, especially his shinobi reacted when pushed a little. He eyed the boy curiously, a sly smile on his face but just so.

Tch. This fucker.
The boy turned away from the man with a bitter expression coiled across his face, continuing his strenuous push-ups without pause. Of course he couldn't do it. Not yet, that is. Training involved steps. Each step must be taken or else one could end up falling to the bottom of the staircase of progress.
Besides, he'd been going all out for five hours; that was far past his average performance time at full strength. That had to say something. Wait, was he mentally trying to show off to this guy? He didn't even know who he was.
Whatever. He would continue to do his exercise.
The man made another comment on the boy giving up on the training. This guy definitely knew how to push the boy's buttons. Kuso was steaming not only from the heat of the day and of the push-ups, but from anger as well.
"Usuratonkaji...what makes you think...I'll give up...so easily...?"
His arms were beginning to sting badly from the strain. Maybe he had pushed himself too far...
Still, he continued to push himself. It was only five hours, right? That can't be too much for a ninja, right? [/style] |

He couldn’t tell if he’d really gotten under the boys skin or not, but form the cold shoulder act he put up as he went back to his activity Tou felt he might have. He wondered how long the boy would keep this up? What if he pushed him to far? He didn’t seem to be responding to him anmore, maybe he’d worn out any welcome he had…
In any case, Tou lounged back observing he boy, and perking his eyebrows to his question. Although murmured through the straining for air, Tou had heard him loudly enough. He had gotten under his skin a bit. This could turn out interesting. ”You just look too tired to continue. Your drive seems gone and you look like your gonna die…. Usually that’s a big sign telling you your in the wrong line of work. Are you trying to be a genin or something kid?”
That was a low blow. Tou kinda wished he hadn’t been so harsh on that one but if anything, it should fire him up. Maybe he should tone it down a bit after that. Tou closed his eyes and shook his head slowly, opening his eyes to loom at the struggling boy again. What would he do now? Ignore an old man’s words, explode in anger, storm off?
How would a shinobi react under pressure from an old stranger? Mocking even, Tou definitely deserved a good punch for being so arrogant to a stranger, but it was a test of sorts, as are all things in life. And the old man wanted to see how this stressed looking child would do under his test.

The boy froze for a moment at the man's words.
He thought the boy didn't seem to be the part of even a Genin, despite him actually obtaining the rank over a year ago? Did he really think the boy had lost drive, despite him doing these ridiculous training activities for over five hours (though the man must not have known that, granted)? Was he really going out of his way to push the boy's buttons this much?
Kuso continued his push-ups, his pace never breaking.
Mad. The Genin was really mad, but he would not act out in anger at this stranger. The weapons he was using were just words, and he would leave them like that. He would just continue his exercises without giving this jerk any of his-
"Pfffhehehehehe~"
The boy chortled quietly to himself as he continued to push himself away from the earth. Kuso couldn't control himself; his laugh felt too explosive to keep inside of himself. The man's words were what spawned such chortling, mainly because they seemed so far from the truth.
He lifted his head, a confident smile beaming across his face.
"You're definitely...a foreigner here...if you really think so..."
Despite the deep breath in between every few words, Kuso's voice remained as strong and powerful as his will. His pace did change, suddenly, as he increased drastically in speed.
"Because you must...not understand...the sheer ten-...tenacity of the Shipugakure shinobi..."
Down. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up.
"We never...give up...because we are...like the hurricane...that constantly...surrounds the village..."
He pushed himself up once more, holding up the weighted sand bags as well as his own mass.
"...until we die..."
Kuso looked down at the shadow of his that took refuge from the sun beneath him. It looked as if it had rained just below, as the dirt was tattered with tiny black spots. No matter what the man said, he knew he was working harder than he had ever worked before. He has almost lost count of how many he did, but judging by the time it normally took to finish the set, he had done over six hundred, give or take the amount he got when he sped up.
He dropped to his knees, panting loudly. Turning, he fully faced the stranger, taking in his entire image. What had his words done? But rather, who the hell was he?
"Kaguya Kuso. Genin. Future kicker of your ass. You?"

As he waited for the boys response, his mind drifted to the past, to his own extensive training, mostly if not entirely in the area of Taijutsu. Tirelessly working to obtain his incredible physical form and skill in the area. The hours had been pain staking, and he would never forget those endless hours spent under the sun punching and kicking and lifting and moving. It was then he had drilled the abilities he now possessed and could preform at a moments notice with hardly any thought. Because of his pushing he was where he was now….
He came back to the present as the boy began to explain something through labored breathes. His speed in the exercise had increased and the explanation must have been sparked form Tous words, so he took minor victory in achieving his goal of enflaming the boy. But his response, the dedication he had as a shinobi made Tou look at him with a prideful gaze, proud the system they had could produce such a pleasing boy even when he was not required to respond so. A true blind response that was exactly what he wished to hear.
But the boys introduction made a sly smile cross his lips and his eye brows raise a bit in question.”Well now, Kuso Kaguya, It is a pleasure to meet such an aspiring shinobi.” He took a moment to chuckle. Kick his ass? That was funny, if only he realized who he was speaking to, maybe he wouldn’t be so bold. Funny though, such a dedicated Shipugakure shinobi didn’t even recognize his own leader…
Pushing off the tree to stand at his full height, which towered over most grown men, Tou looked down at the boy, his face never wavering from his sly smile, but his eyes displaying a cold look of power if you could imagine how a lion might look at a lesser zebra, but with less blood lust. ”I suppose it’s only fair I introduce myself… I am Hibiki Tou, The Arashikage of Shipugakure no Sato.” Hands still in pockets, he would be highly interested in the announcement of his title to the child. Would he realize any mistakes he made or have regrets? Or would his proclamation of kicking his ass stand? Silence would surely fallow, and what would come next would be the real interesting part.

He...wait what?
The boy had been attempting to push himself onto his feet as the man spoke of his own name and title. This man, the one who Kuso was planning on roughing up for his insolence of the Shipugakure shinobi as well as the boy's own skills, was the leader of Shipugakure itself. He was the Arashikage. Such knowledge was shocking enough to cause the boy to falter in his recovery, almost fall back onto the ground were he not to catch himself half way.
Kuso pulled himself erect, and looked up at the incredibly tall man that stood before him. There was an obvious difference between the two, and that wasn't specifically the massive difference of height between the two. Tou-sama had a powerful air about him, which almost suffocated his own with its intoxicating potency. It was a aura of determination; granted it was smug, but it was determination none the less. The boy supposed this is what comes with being the village's leader.
The power to guide, to influence, to help, to lead.
Kuso smiled once again as he stared down the man. Then, he would speak loud and proudly, still running off the momentum of his breathless speech from earlier.
"You may be the Kage, but my promise still stands, ne!"
He pointed a challenging finger at the blue-haired man.
"Your title doesn't make me want to fight you any less."

He caught the boy falter for a moment, and looked to the sky, removing his smile. He didn’t want the boy to thing him smug and would rather not play off his hesitation or stumble. He had already gotten under the boys skin, he’d allow him to keep his pride and resist poking any more fun at him. But the sound of his voice a moment later drew the Kages gaze, a hard, calculating expression and look as he read the boys resolve.
Now the look itself was one he reserved for reading people, and even put fear into those he used it one for it seemed cold and considering the power held by the man using such a look it could be quite unnerving. But soon a smile would appear tugging at the corner of his mouth. A small smirk but one that certainly lightened the look.
He was pleased to see that his title didn’t deter the boy form his word. What was a shinobi who didn’t hold true to his word after all? A coward perhaps. Or maybe one not truly fit to hold power. No, Tou would rather have shinobi hold their word in high standing and only go back on it in the most dire situations if ever. He stepped to face the boy fully and opened his arms, open handed, as if offering his exposed chiseled form to the child, accepting his challenge.
”Glade to see you are not deterred. There might be hope yet for you as a shinobi child. Give us a shot, lets see what a capable shinobi of Shigakure is capable of shall we.” We said this, ending with a little smirk. He wasn’t afraid of the boy, but nor did he want to hurt him. But if he was insistent on following through with his challenge he’d allow it, and let him see a very small glimpse of why his kage was held in such high regard. Maybe he could even share a lesson of sorts with this Kuso Kaguya. Brightening the youth was a way to ensure the future after all.

This guy...
He wasn't turning out to be what Kuso had assumed he would be like. Well, he was still kind of a dick in regards to constantly insulting the boy, but not so much of one as to make the boy hate him. In fact, the Genin thought he would make an excellent tutor.
Though it would have to be a decision thought out and discussed through the fists of the two shinobi.
Tou took on the boy's challenge with open arms, quite literally, with a bold attitude one could choke a god with. Then came one of those moments when an old saying happens to cross one's mind, though its meaning barely escapes the recipient's mental grasp. What did they say when two proud heads clash? Something about a catastrophe, or double negatives, or something stupid.
Gah, whatever.
Well, this man wanted Kuso to take him on in combat. The Genin was excited as he was skeptical. This man was the Arashikage; he wouldn't expect him to fight with his full power. Even if the boy were to somehow get the upper hand in the fight and win, it would be a hollow victory. No, he would force Tou to use force with the boy. He could handle it.
The questioned remained, though: When would the two fight...?
The boy kicked off the ground into a quick dash towards the giant of a man, aiming to deliver a solid punch to his lower abdomen.
...Well, why not right now?
That's what was so perfect about Kuso's height in situations like these; he was a small target to hit, and he had a perfect shot at the lower portions of his enemies, able to hit them in their softer areas.
Kuso would exert a great amount of strain in his burst of speed, though his muscles still ached from his hours of training. It would hinder him slightly, though his speed still remained quite remarkable for that of a Genin.
Were the man to somehow be hit by this technique, he would suffer a sudden pressure being pushed into his intestines, which could result in vomiting were his muscles not strong enough to stop the attack. Though the boy doubted he could be hit with such a simple punch.
No, this was just to gauge what he was dealing with... [/style] |

The boy was straight forward, Tou liked that. He didn’t wait long after the challenge was accepted to attempt to hit the man that was pestering him. But the boy had made a good many mistakes… he was a child, and would learn in time. He was tired, quite clearly exaughsted from his work. But regardless he moved surprisingly quick, in addition to his other problem. He hadn’t removed the sand bags form his body so his dash was mostly out of impulse, half blinded, more then likely, by his rage or anger from the previous insults that he just wanted to lay fist to the man.
A mistake the boy would pay for, but Tou held his smirk, interested to gauge the strength of the boy. As the hit came he let it connect, the punch strong for the boys age, but not quit anywhere it’d have to be to actually hurt the Giant Man. As the hit came, Tou would lean back a bit, allowing the boy to hit him and in that moment he would bring his knee striking upward, moving to connect to his much slower target’s head or chest, depending on the length of the boys arm.
Leaning back as he would slightly do, would help with the punch and bring his target in closer and hopefully connect. He was a Taijutsu master, and his body was at it’s peak, A punch of this level wouldn’t even scratch him and he’d feel it as one might a ball tossed at them. The knee upward, if it connected, wouldn’t be nearly as hard as he could give it, but pretty substantial. As powerful as he was, tuning things down wasn’t always easy.
The hit would more then likely send the boy upward in the air, sandbags or not, and feel like a bat swung hard into the body, hard enough to lift on far off their feet. In the same motion, the Arashikage would step down and moved to snatch the hopefully rising boys collar and proceed to toss him, and the sand bags, for the most part effortlessly aside a few meters. He’d probably roll and tie himself up in the sand bags but at least he’d learn a bit about what he was dealing with and realize his mistake, the sand bags. They slowed him down far to much and made him an easy target while adding to he bigger mans already large advantage.
”Use your head before your fists boy.” Still with his light smirk, Tou continued to eye the boy, calculating not his next move so much as his emotion. He wanted to know if the boy could conquer his feelings under pressure or in moments of anger. That, he had learned to late in his own life, and it was an invaluable skill for any, especially the young. Learning this now would save him much burden in the future. That much was for certain.

All the man had done to prepare himself for the boy's attack was to lean with it. Granted, the fist still hit the man, but the strike's worth made itself very clear when he felt that his balled up hand barely dented itself into the larger opponent's abdomen.
It was like hitting a steel wall.
Were it not for his reinforced bones, Kuso most likely could have fractured his wrist. Thank goodness for small miracles.
That was not the only part of the Arashikage's movement. As he arched backwards, his knee was brought up as well, slamming the boy directly underneath his chin. The force of impact was strong enough to lift the boy a few feet up off the ground as his head rattled from the strike. But before Kuso could rejoin the earth, he felt a tight vice cuff his shirt's collar before it hoisted him away from his opponent.
Tou was capable of multiple movements in just a few short moments. He would definitely have to teach Kuso a thing or two about speed in the future.
The boy managed to place an arm on the ground to catch himself and act as a pivot, using the momentum of what would have been a tumbling roll to rotate himself back onto his feet and facing his opponent once again. He had landed about twenty feet away from the Kage.
Scoreboard time: Tou-1, Kuso-0.
Kuso shrugged his shoulders back as the man lectured him about brains before brawn. It wasn't as if Kuso had charged head on with sandbags on his body without making some form of plan. Were this to have been a real battle with life or death outcomes, his Shikotsumyaku would have made for an excellent sudden counter, though this man may have been fast enough to counter the counter. A double counter. Whatever.
No, Kuso was performing a delicate dance known as false interpretation. His opponent could guess the boy was faster without the sandbags, and could promptly react to the gain of speed he would receive once they were removed. That was what Kuso was going to use this next time around.
Round two...action!
The boy would attempt another charging attack at his opponent, though this time he would employ a different strategy of approach. Instead of directly running into the man, Kuso would run in a zigzag fashion to close the distance between himself and Tou. Each crest of the jagged wave-like pattern would be about five feet or so away from the tangent.
All the while, the Genin would be kneading chakra into certain spots on his bones, preparing for his next action.
If he were to get within a few feet of the Kage without him reacting, the boy would perform a low sweeping kick, attempting to use his strength to knock the Kage off of his feet. No matter how strong he was, what would prevent the boy's kick from knocking him over would either be incredible weight or a preventative action taken by the opponent himself.
Through all of this, though, Kuso kept his eyes constantly on the man, watching what moves he would make.

Tou was mildly impressed. He could tell the boy was straining his body, but even after taking the hit square in the jaw he had been able to manipulate his fall and weight and the weight of the bags, to land in a mildly good stance. At least he’d have been ready for a genin attacker, maybe a poor chunin even. But not anything above that. Still, credit was due and Tou gave a small nod as the boy glared back at the Arashikage. His determination was great, something eh loved to see in his shinobi, even when faced with unbeatable odds such as this.
And here he came again. Not very fast, but eh still had the sandbags attached. It seemed he still hadn’t learned, but he was trying to get used to the weight, push himself past his current abilities to come out ahead, and maybe he’d strip the bags in motion to gain the boost and throw Tou off. It didn’t really matter, Tou wanted him to learnt he lesson to never hold yourself back. The enemy would do enough of that. Treat everything like your life, but more importantly, someone else’s life depended on you winning. You can’t win with your hands tied behind your back. Well Tou probably could, but now he was self gloating and threat was just wrong.
So as the boy approached in his zig-zag fashion, Tou held his smirk and raised a knee, taking on the appearance of a crane form. He wanted to use transferred momentum to progress and hopefully throw his opponent off? Well whet happened when the ground beneath your feet couldn’t be trusted? Channeling chakra quickly to his foot, he forced it down into the earth, in a modified version of a common Taijutsu ability. You wouldn’t know it off the bat cause he was using it in a rather different manner, but to the same effect. And to one without the ability to see or sense chakra it might come as a huge surprise.
So after a moment of allowing him to advanced a few yards, maybe within 10 feet, Tou’s foot hit the ground, and with the force of the Heavenly Foot of Pain behind it, the ground erupted in to blocks, pretty unpredictably destroying he ground all around them both. To someone with good balance it’d wouldn’t have mattered a lot, probably throwing a wrench into an advance though. But to someone relaying on the ground to be there to catch them and their added, awkward weight? Yeah that could pose a problem. Tou watched the boy to see how he reacted to the ground betraying him and see if he would continue with his attack or fall back to reconsider. Or who knew, maybe he’d wise up and start taking this seriously….
Jutsu Used? Heavenly Foot of Pain [/style]

Kuso was closing the ground between himself and the Arashikage at a moderately fast pace, as the constant lateral detours would slow his progress down some. He was hoping to see the opponent make a move; this strategy was that of a countering measure.
Suddenly, the man lifted one of his legs for a moment, just when the Genin was about half way in between his initial launch point and where the Kage stood. This was Kuso's cue to initiate his next move.
He would manipulate the chakra stored in the separate parts of his bones, forcing thin bone spikes to protrude from particular spots. The piercing thorns of calcium would protrude just far enough from his skin to slice through the ropes that kept the sandbags on his body. Kuso would lose several hundred pounds in just a mere instant, and his speed would show the severe change.
Once the weight's ropes were snipped, and before they would even hit the ground, Kuso's plans would change. Instead of a tedious zig-zag, he would once again dash to attack the man, this time being several times faster than before, aiming to dash by the side of the man which still had a standing leg, swinging the arm closest to the man back as he did to deliver a hit-and-run blow just below where his ribs would end.
He would continue his dash until he was a safe ten feet away, and if the man had continued with his foot stomp, the boy would be shaken severely by the shifting earth, falling to his rump. [/style] |
